I may not have turkey for you this month, but I do have two new books!
Her Cougar Sunrise by Moxie North and A Purrfect Trifecta by Rebel West are releasing on November 16th! I had such fun continuing my journey in Milly Taiden's Paranormal Dating Agency World. These books are short, sweet, and sexy. They are quicker reads than my usual novels, but add in an extra dash of instalove and you get a great story. I'm also halfway through writing my third installment in the 7 Brides for 7 Bears series. Unexpected Bride doesn't have a release date yet, but I will put it up for pre-order once it goes to the editor. This book is a tiny deviation from the idea of 7 Brides for 7 Bears, but you will get your mates, your bride, and kiss ass heroine. With so many holidays this time of year, I hope everyone has the time to spend with family or friends and enjoy the season. Happy Reading, Moxie Release Day is always so exciting and nerve wracking. You've worked so hard on a new book and the moment comes when you have to press the publish button. Will they like it? Will they hate it? And how many people will they share that news with?
Luckily I have finally made it to a happy place that I soak in all the good vibes and ignore the bad. I loved writing this book. Being a huge scifi lover, space stories are my jam. If you've ever seen the back of my travel trailer you know I show my scifi love with pride. #bringbackfirefly With the release of Tangle Me, it will be added to a group of others all retelling fairytales in the future in their own way. Little Red Riding Hood, Hook, and many others. I'll be posting links for those soon. I hope you enjoy my version of Rapunzel, who doesn't love hair that moves on it's own? I know I do :) I survive three new releases in two days. I'd have to say it's not something I want to do again. Poor Misty Stark managed to keep everything running smoothly.
Thank you to everyone that has read and reviewed. Being able to join Milly Taiden's Paranormal Dating Agency was something I'd been looking forward to. I loved being able to write two totally different stories under my name and my pen name Rebel West. It was a great way to shift gears between the stories. My story, Wait for Me Mountain Mermaids was a fun break too. I have another story planned for this year too. I will be writing two new stories for the next Paranormal Dating Agency release at the end of the year. Along with that I will have another story that is slated to come out as a group project in the fall. The next installment of the 7 Brides for 7 Bears series will also be out this year. This will be a bigger book and take a little longer than my current WIPs. I want to give you the best story I can in the series. I hope everyone is having an amazing summer, before you know it I'll be posting pumpkins! Oddly this is a question I receive from readers and interested parties as well as one I ask myself.
I usually stammer a bit and try to think of an answer quickly so I don't look like a writer that hasn't a clue. But sometimes, we really don't. There are those stories that wake you up in the middle of the night or the scenes that come to you in the shower. They are tiny flashes of something so much bigger. Then there are the times, for me usually when I've committed to a project or a deadline, that the "muse" disappears. Though I don't believe this muse is something outside myself. It's years of reading, watching, imagining. Our brains always ticking away with the stories we've seen and the stories we've kept going in our minds. As I've said before, I have three finished books that will be out in August. That doesn't mean I'm not working, there are always more books to write. Some times I need to take a break, turn off the little hamster in my head and not dream of new romances. A short break often brings back the "muse". I have a story plotted, as I stare at the screen I wait to hear the voices start to tell me their tale. I really hope it's a good one. Moxie I'm still not sure how summer snuck up on me! I swear it was just last week I was in my hoodie sitting by the fireplace. Now there is sunshine, and birds chirping really early in the morning. Don't they know I'm working?
I was so proud of myself that I was way ahead of my due dates for a number of books and then the powers that be through a wrench in them. Luckily it wasn't me tossing the tools, so I still got my words in and my books finished. Being half way through the year, I had hoped to have at least three or four books published. Technically I'm calling it two and a half books published, with Runaway Bride releasing at the end of December. The great news is even though I don't have a book releasing in July, (I will be running some sales), I have three books releasing in August! That doesn't mean I'm done for the year, not by a long shot. I have another book in the works for later this year. A group project I'm really excited about. I will also be writing the third installment of Seven Brides for Seven Bears, Unexpected Bride. Goals aside, I have lots of books coming, my aim is to minimize my sunburns while doing so. Cover Reveals coming soon for Milly Taiden's PDA world! With Valentine's Day just a few weeks away, I like to take this time to not think about how lucky I am to have my soul mate, and believe me I do and I'm lucky as hell. I adore my man and I know he adores me. But before I met him I was recovering from a divorce. I had reached the point post relationship where I had to make a decision. Do I keep looking for someone to love me, or do I put the effort into loving myself first. See, I hadn't done that in a very long time. After a breakup, there are times you just can't wrap your head around how everything went so spectacularly wrong.
It took some time, but I found my happy again. I learned to not only like myself, but to love myself. I made my life plan based on being by myself and living my life to the fullest. That's when love found me. So while not everyone has a permanent Valentine's date, I thought I could offer some advice on how to be your own Valentine. This may seem simple, but it's harder to give yourself the love you need sometimes. This Valentines, what are you going to do for you? 1. Take a bath, light the candles, play the music. 2. Open a bottle of wine, find your favorite television show and binge. 3. Invite your single friends over for a besties party. 4. Volunteer - spread the love. 5. Plan a family dinner. 6. Paint your nails and curl your hair, get gussied up even if you're staying at home. 7. Write a love letter to yourself. Remind your heart that you are an amazing person. I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day. We all have love to give, no matter what. Love, Moxie So technically it's not the new year yet, but I'm ready for this one to shuffle off. It has been a great year for me as an author. I am humbled and amazed daily about how great my readers are. Thank you all for supporting me and continuing to read my stories.
Looking forward, I'm excited to keep writing. I have a number of ideas planned and want to focus on getting new books out in the different series. Some of my time will be dedicated to helping other authors get their books published. I'm so proud of my friend Kate Ryan in publishing her first two novels. Check them out over on lastpagepublishing.com. I will also be looking at any possible reader events I may be able to attend. I will of course post as soon as I know I'll be attending. The beginning of the year will be busy. Misty and I will be working on getting all of the books in paperback. Also I'm hoping that the first three Rochon Brothers books will be out in Audible next year. So thank you all again for being my awesome readers. Moxie |
